The Lofts on Belmont are family-owned by Eric & Patty Lindley of Indianapolis, Indiana. We purchased the boarded-up property in May of 1988, and have poured countless hours in to the making of what it is today. I remember our first summer working on the lofts well, because it was one of the hottest summers in Indianapolis' history. We were young, full of energy and excited to be moving our photography studio into the building. We lived with Patty's mom from May to August, and finally began living at the building in early September. The main criteria for staying there was a working shower and toilet. It's amazing how little you really need to survive.
Most of the work and repairs are handled by myself with tons of help from Patty and the kids. When you call for a repair, I'm the one who will show up and fix it. I do hire out most electrical, HVAC, and major plumbing projects just to be safe.
I enjoy hanging out with our children, and taking kayak and bike trips together as much as possible. My passion is working with my mind and hands creating digital art, wire sculpture, and creative architectural surprises on the Belmont. I love creating and solving problems!

Eric and I have been together for 32 years, and for 28 of those years we have been involved with The Lofts on Belmont. It has been a journey wrought with many trials and tribulations, thankfully no blood, but lots of sweat and some tears. When I reflect on what we have created, I just keep going back to the man who sold us the Belmont. Mr. York was always amazed to see the improvements over the years. I am grateful for the time spent together and all of the valuable lessons learned by our children.
I am happiest spending time with our grown children: cooking, eating, baking and hiking in Brown County.
